Opting for Durea means opting for quality and craftsmanship. For more than 60 years, we have ensured that every Durea shoe is a top product. In order to achieve that, we perform 150 to 250 actions on every shoe. Made almost exclusively by hand by experienced craftspeople who have love and passion for the shoe trade.

Optimal attention
Durea pays optimal attention to every stage of the production process. That already starts at the design stage. Listening properly to our customers and accurately following current fashion trends are our starting points. Even as far as purchasing is concerned, we want to distinguish ourselves. We select our leather in Italy with the greatest of care. After having been transported, the leather is carefully stored, so that quality is retained for a long period of time.

Optimal wearing comfort, fit and shape retention
Leather is a fickle natural product. It is for that reason that we cut it with the greatest possible care, after which the correct thickness is obtained by machine. This includes in those places where several pieces overlap one another as this significantly benefits the wearing comfort.
Then the actual production of the shoe begins. First of all, the upper part of the shoe, the vamp, is stitched together and then accurately pulled over the last. That process is called lasting. Under high pressure, the sole is now glued to the vamp. We then have to wait for 24 hours before we can remove the shoe from the last. It is crucial to wait as long as necessary in order to guarantee a perfect fit and long-lasting shape retention. These are two important quality characteristics with which Durea likes to distinguish itself!
